Write Up:
It was a wonderful day for a hike. I got a few chuckles about the mini-glacier and a few about the difficulty level. These quieted down after the first uphill stretch and some were wondering where their fitness levels went. We all soon settled into the cadence of the hike and enjoyed the cooler temperatures as our bodies heated up from the exercise.
We soon crossed Larry's mini-glacier and took a couple of pictures to prove its existance :-)
We were about 1 3/4 hours getting to the far end and discussed the possiblities of future hikes into the McTaggart Nature reserve. With well mudded boots we headed back for the return journey.
The snow caused the trail slopes to become quite slippery and there were a few minor falls, so once we hit a point at which the paved and graveled trail crossed the wilderness trail, the coordinators opted, for the sake of safety, to remain on the city maintained trail back to the cars. This knocked about a half hour off the return so half of us headed to BPs for Pizza and refreshments.
Although there were no "graduates" this weekend because we did not complete the trail as planned, we all agreed that it was a good hike and we'd do it again.

Thanks for coming !!
