Itinerary:
This is listed as a extremely challenging hike on the Waskehegan Trail Association list of hikes.

Larry has done this hike and says that it is as close to an Alpine hike as you will get in the city. This is not a hike for those weak of heart.

The hike is 6kms one direction with plenty of cliff face exposure and accumulated elevation gain. If it's still there we will even cross a mini glacier. If you find that the hike is too much for you, it criss-crosses the city pathways for a quick and easy stroll back to the parking lot. Please allow yourself enough time to find the park.

Required Items to Bring:
Wear appropriate clothing especially good ankle supporting hiking boots.
If its warm, 1 to 2 liters of water is recommended.
Trekking poles strongly suggested!

Gaiters will prevent pebbles, sticks, mud and burrs from entering your boot tops.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Money for snacks or lunch after the hike.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take the Whitemud Drive East or West (depending on which direction you're coming from) Turn South onto 119 st. Then turn west (first right off 119 St).Rainbow Valley Rd. has a sign labeled Whitemud Park. Take this road past the first parking lot on your left side of the road. We will be parking in front of the Rangers station at the far side of the parking lot.

Larry drives a light grey Buick SUV.
