Write Up:

Saturday: We all met up at the info center then headed off to CoCo's cafe for some lunch. After we headed just south of Jasper to hike at Valley of the Five Lakes (8.3km, 30m elevation gain). For supper we ate at Jasper Pizza Place then headed off to the Atha-B Nightclub for a bit of dancing before retiring for the night at the Maligne Canyon Hostel.

Sunday: We headed ~100km south of Jasper to hike up Parker Ridge (5km, 250m elevation gain) for a lovely view of the Saskatchewan Glacier. After the majority of us hiked up the Columbia Icefields for a view of the Athabasca Glacier getting absolutely soaked & freezing as the weather was pouring & extremely windy. At least afterwards we went into the Interpretive Center for some hot beverages to warm up! Also we stopped up for a short walk at the Athabasca Falls. For supper, half of us went to the restaurant Something Else & the others went to Miss Italia.

Monday: We hiked all 6 bridges at Maligne Canyon (8.8km, ~120m elevation gain on the way back). After we headed into town for some lunch - some at CoCo's & at Cafe Mondo. On the way home, half of us stopped for a soak in the Miette Hot Springs (some of us were also brave enough to go into the cold pool too) while others went on a short hike in the area. For supper, several of us stopped in Hinton to L&W then headed home.

Thanks everyone from coming on this mini wilderness vacation! Also thanks to the drivers as we drove just over 1000km this weekend!
