Sat, Mar 25 2017 - Earth Hour Campfire and Stargazing (View Original Event Details)

Event Coordinator(s): Ryan
Participants:Ryan, Ali, Ben C, Sylvia L, Trina E, Amélie

Write Up:
Earth Hour is a global symbolic gesture to raise awareness about climate change which was started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia. 2017 is the tenth year that Earth Hour has been marked, and six of us met up and roasted marshmallows at Coronation Park, continuing a tradition of EOC Earth Hour events dating back to our first campfire at Coronation Park for Earth Hour 2008. The weather for Earth Hour 2017 was reasonably warm. As the skies were somewhat cloudy, and we were still enjoying the warmth of the fire, we did not head over to the Telus World of Science for stargazing. Afterwards, three of us rounded out a good evening by heading over to Boston Pizza for tea/hot chocolate and a late evening snack.

Thanks all for coming out! - Ryan
