Write Up:
The weekend started with everyone escaping Edmonton's cold weather to arrive safely at the hilltop hostel.

On Saturday morning, the ice climbers were off early followed shortly by the skiers. 10 of us (cross-country skiers) headed out for some adventures at Johnson Lake. Despite the lack of a groomed trail, we made our way over fallen trees, up steep hills and around the lake. In the afternoon, we skied the Cascade Valley - both spots were incredibly beautiful.

Upon the return of everyone, the group headed out for dinner and then back to hostel for karaoke and beverages. At this point, it was discovered that EOC has many "talented" singers who are country fans.

Sunday morning was another early start for the cavers and skiers. The skiers did the Spray River loop and returned to the Banff Springs Hotel for a drink.

All in all a good weekend was had by all and we appreciated the warmth and hospitality of Banff.
