Sun, Mar 3 2013 - Cabane à Sucre (View Original Event Details)
|
What a great way to spend a brisk Sunday in March. Six EOCers met at Hawrelak Park to join in the festivities organized by the University of Alberta in celebration of Cabane à Sucre - a festival to honour French Canadian culture and traditions. Our group of six enjoyed two rides on a two-horse open sleigh, we devoured la tire (hot maple syrup poured onto snow and rolled onto a stick for gooey goodness), we slurped up hot chocolate, and we frolicked in our snowshoes as we sought out the deeper snow areas.
Four of us rounded out the event by visiting a local Tim Horton's for conversation and more tasty treats.
