We got a bit of a late start as we waited for everyone to get to the meeting point. One person had to catch up with us in Red Deer so we could make it to Golden on time. By keeping breaks to a minimum though we managed to make it with 15 minutes to spare.

Unfortunately the lower canyon was closed due to high water, but the rapids were good on the middle section, which we did twice instead of doing the lower section. We were split into two boats; one got the cat-raft, the other a regular raft. A couple of us decided to switch boats after the first run and got to try both. They agreed that the cat raft was the way to go; it digs into the rapids a lot more and you get much more wet. If you haven't tried it, you should; the cat raft gets two thumbs up!

We got into Banff to eat where it took so long for the food to arrive that we didn't get to do anything else. Not that anyone minded - it was a long day. After returning to Canmore for the night, a few of us went for drinks before crashing.

The next morning was gorgeous and sunny, and all but three of us took part in the Ha Ling Peak hike. The view was awesome and we spent about 20 minutes on the peak enjoying it. We made our way back to the van to start our journey back to Edmonton, stopping on the way at Peters' Drive-In for lunch. Thanks all for coming out; it was a great weekend!
