Write Up:
The double digit temperatures from earlier in the week were but a memory as the Saturday light was greeted by the howl of a strong northwest wind. However furious the gale was, it was no match for the dedication of the Saturday Seven - The EOC hikers on their way to Islet Lake.

We re-routed slightly to stay in the cover of trees as we made our way to the Lost Lake shelter. The winds from the previous few days felled dozens of trees and drifted snow across the trail creating a steady stream of obstacles as we proceeded. At the shelter, we got out of the wind and enjoyed some hot chocolate while watching a small flock of birds competing over the feeder nearby.

We didn't see any four legged critters along the hike, but there were a few ducks and geese on the lake, waiting, feathers fluffed, for the howl to end and for the sun to shine once again.
