Total Distance: 50km
Note that there are some good hills on this trip!

Behind the Tempo station, turn left (east) onto the service road that runs behind the gas stations (RR223). (at 1.7km)
Turn right (south) onto RR 824. Turn left (east) onto Hwy 221A just before the railroad tracks. Continue to Twp 530 (at 5.1km)
Turn left (east) onto Twp 530 for approximately 2km to RR 220. Turn right (south) onto RR 220. Continue to Wye Rd (Laughing Llamas restaurant). (at 12.1km)
Turn east (left) onto Wye Rd and continue to RR 215. (at 12.1km)
Turn right (south) onto RR 215 and continue to Twp Rd 520 (at km 18.6)
Turn left (east) onto Twp Rd 520 and continue into the community of Callingwood Cove. As you enter the community, the road will curve several times (right, left, right, right). We'll stop for a lunch/snack break at the picnic area on the right (look for picnic tables and basketball hoops). Note that there are no public washrooms here. (at 24.1km)

To return, retrace your steps out of Collingwood Cove and continue west on Twp 520 for approximately 9km to RR 221. (at 33.0km)
Turn right (north) onto RR 221 past/through Wye Road. Go approximately 3.6km past Wye Road to Katie's Crossing (railroad cars on the left). (at km 43.1)
Ice Cream Break at Katie's Crossing
Continuing past Katie's Crossing, the road curves - proceed to stop sign. Turn right (east) and ride under the train bridge and make a quick left. (at 43.4km)
Take RR 221A to the stop sign. Turn right (north) onto RR 824 and ride to RR 223. (at 46.7km)
This road will take you back to the service road which runs behind the service stations - watch for this road on the left (RR 223) just before Highway 16.

Note that "Slow Pace" does not mean "Not Challenging". Please ensure you can do the posted distance at the intended speed before signing up.

Please do not request pre-registration. The only people registered on this event are the ones who helped plan it. We're not totally certain of the date, which is why the general spots don't open until July 8th.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take St. Albert Road north to the Yellowhead Hwy 16 and head east on the Yellowhead past the intersection for Highway 21 (to Fort Saskatchewan), about 28km. On the right-hand side of the road, you'll see a pull-off with an Esso station - exit there and head to the Tempo gas station behind the Esso.

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $17.40 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, May 2, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
