Itinerary:
The Kicking Horse Classic has all the ingredients for an unforgettable river experience! Our Day begins on the calmer sections of the Kicking Horse River in Yoho National Park. The morning finds us rolling along glacial waters and learning to work as a team. Then after a riverside BBQ Lunch, we will spend a very exciting afternoon of continuous whitewater spent tackling the Class 3 & 4 rapids of the Middle Canyon.
No experience is required.

Details of the weekend :
-Saturday, carpool leaves in morning.
-Set up camp at the Alpine Rafting camp site located in the beaver foot along the Kicking Horse riverside.
- Possibility Saturday or Sunday (after supper) nearby hikes: Wapta Falls, Thompson Falls.
-Sunday Kicking Horse Classic Whitewater Trip departs 9:00 am, return 3:00 pm, rapids class 1 to class 4,on the river time: 2 hrs 40 min. Lunch is included. The Riverside BBQ Lunch is set in a beautiful, private location with sweeping views of the river, and Mount Chancellor in Yoho National Park: hot & cold drinks, fruit & veggie platters, Alberta beef burgers, free range chicken breast burgers potato wedges, salad, and cookies for desert. Want a double cheeseburger or seconds? Help yourself!
-Games and campfire Sunday night after supper at a local restaurant.
-Leave for home on Monday morning.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:On highway #1 heading west from Field, BC and Lake Louise: after exiting the Yoho National Park gate go 1.7 kilometres and turn left on Beaverfoot Road (note: this is 25 kilometres before Golden). Go 1.4 kilometres to Kicking Horse Road and turn right. Go past the Kicking Horse River Chalets and Camp Wenman for 1.5 Kilometres until you see the campground on the right for Alpine Rafting, turn right and follow the campground road to our campsite.

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $320.74 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Friday, April 26, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

Notes:
There will be a meeting to discuss details of the trip once all have paid.
You will be responsible for camping equipment , if you do not have it you will have to rent it.

- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the EOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where EOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refunds of money if you cancel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.

- Details of this event are subject to undergo a change at any point in time, with or without warning.
