Itinerary:
A day at the lake is said to restore the soul, so let’s do a weekend at the lake! (*Event changed from 3 nights to 2 nights, with flexible days for stay. Option for more activities at Pigeon Lake Monday before heading home. See below about personal kayak/ canoe options for reimbursement)

Come to the Alberta 4-H Centre Resort Campground and swim, fish, kayak/canoe/paddleboard, hike, bike, or just soak up the sun while enjoying the lake. We will explore the outdoors and try out the fireside gazebos, as well as Teepee Village. We will visit an amazing forested area which is home to wildlife and rare vegetation. Go on a hiking adventure through various designated hiking trails and discover Alberta’s largest natural fern glade, and walk along 65 million-year-old bedrock sections. We will explore some lesser known Provincial Wilderness Area’s for hikes, such as Mount Butte Provincial Natural Area with a great view of Battle Lake and Battle River and Dr surrounding areas from atop of this large Kame "mountain".
There is volleyball and basketball courts, and some other fun activities. There are very unique old growth forest trails on site and along the lake.

Accommodations - Alberta 4-H Centre Resort Campground/ Lodge located on Battle Lake (Nearby Amenities: Village of Pigeon Lake (Grocery store, Gift Shops and Restaurants).
Tucked away on 143 scenic acres along the shores of Battle Lake, this facility and its amenities is a hidden gem. Only 100k from Edmonton . This is land from purchased in 1977 from Dr. Grant MacEwan, the land that would is now known as the Alberta 4-H Centre and a regular camp for kids, weddings, conferences, and families. Access to all amenities: Other amenities: BBQ, fire-pit, 9-square (new game courts), archery (bring your own bow and arrows).

There is a large grassy areas for games/activities and space for personal tents and trailers. Overall we have room for everyone not wanting to camp outside in dorm style bunk beds in the dormitory for if the weather is forecast to be bad. Others who prefer tents/trailers will stay outside.

The cost will be $70.00 for 2 nights and remains the same price for all participants regardless of selected accommodations.

This includes accommodations, firewood, and rental costs of BBQ, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes. If you have personal water crafts, please bring and share with others and bring life jackets (No obligation to share items, but cost reduction can be discusssed).
Organized walks, hikes, bikes, activities and games will also be offered both near the campground, or at the Provincial Parks.

Go-Carts & Mini Golf are available off site for a cost. Local shopping nearby (10 km) for groceries, ice cream, liquor, shopping, gas and other necessities.

*Note that this area is a regular year round camp for kids, families and Adults, and we should have the whole area to ourselves for this weekend. No 4-H facility animals onsite.

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $60.90 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, April 25, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the EOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where EOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refunds of money if you cancel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.

Group rental costs for watercraft equipment. Select accommodation using in the NOTES SECTION when you sign up: Dormitory bunks, personal Tents, trailers(limit of 5 max) .

There will be a small coordinators fee administered to the coordination of this event as per EOC policy approved amounts.
TO REGISTER YOU MUST MAKE FULL PAYMENT via e-transfer to Mark. Payment is confirmation of your Registration FOR THIS EVENT. Payment must be made before the cut-off on May 16th by 4:00pm
