Itinerary:

We will meet at the overflow parking lot near West Edmonton Mall at 1000 for a 1015 departure to Devon Voyageur Park (see map below for directions to Devon from carpool). If you are meeting the group in Devon please park in the first parking lot as you descent down the hill into Devon Voyageur Park for a 1050 departure.

Come join us for an adventurous hike exploring the Devon trails. There are beautiful views and opportunities to see or track wildlife so feel free to bring your camera!

This is a fairly difficult hike due to frequent changes in elevation. We will hike for approx. 3 hours or until the group decides to turn back, with a break midway for lunch. Dogs are allowed on the trails but must be leashed at all times due to wildlife!

Participants should be prepared and expect any weather possibilities for this day. Bring layers, hot drinks/lunch, ice grips or microspikes, trekking poles and don't forget your cameras!

Travel along highway 60 towards Devon, pass the WELCOME TO DEVON sign and take your first left after the bridge onto ATHABASCA DRIVE, then left onto SUPERIOR ST., then left onto SASKATCHEWAN AVE. Follow saskatchewan ave and descent down the hill towards Devon Voyageur Park, we will meet at the first parking lot on the right.

The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $16.82 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Wednesday, April 24, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
