Itinerary:
We will drive out to Nordegg on Friday evening and spend 3 days at the Shunda Creek Hostel, taking advantage of hiking, biking and other outdoor opportunities available in the area. Hikes and bike rides will be determined as a group once at the hostel (bring your own mountain bike).

The hostel has co-ed dorm rooms. There are no double bed options, sorry couples! Bedding will be provided and sleeping bags are NOT permitted.

On Saturday and Sunday nights we will have pot luck dinners. We will split into two groups for each night, one cooking and one cleaning.

Best of all, we will have a murder mystery event on each weekend evening! The games allow for only 6-8 players, so the first to sign up and say they want to be in a game (put this in the notes section when you sign up) will be the players. Everyone else can participate by asking questions, but only the players can reveal clues and ask pointed questions to other players. The games have themes, so the players MUST dress in costume or risk booing by the crowd. Shirley will assign the characters and email the players their character's background and costume ideas.

Saturday night's murder mystery is called "Breaking Point" and takes place at a lighthouse. There is a marina with a restaurant and lounge beside the lighthouse. Yacht wear and deck shoes are suggested. 8 players.
Sunday's mystery is called "A Vintage Murder". It is set in a French Chateau in the wine country in 1937. Outrageous accents and 30's outfits are expected. 6 players.

Even if you are not playing, feel free to dress appropriately for the venue!

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $174.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Monday, May 6, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

Notes:
You may bring dogs, but they are not allowed in the hostel. They must sleep in your vehicle and bring a long chain or commercial dog lead to tie them up with when you are outside around the hostel. Rope will not do.

The difficulty rating is due to elevation gains of >200 m on most of the hikes in this area.
