Itinerary:
The University of Alberta Alumni Association is kicking off its 100th Anniversary by organizing the Green and Glow Winter Festival at the University of Alberta campus, which will be held from January 29-31, 2015.

Several activities are planned: a science lecture on Thursday January 29th (click here for more details, and to attend with the EOC) and outdoor activities on Friday January 30th and Saturday January 31st.

The event we will attend on the evening of Saturday January 31st is a "Snow Pants Party". The description they provide for the evening is "Snow, lantern making, soundscape, light installation, ice bar and flame spectacular." Based on the map of the event venue, there will be a snow slide and a snow wall, as well as other activities.

I have taken the liberty of pre-registering for 10 people to attend this event. There is no cost to attend, and everyone is welcome (you don't have to be a U of A alumnus). Parking will be available for free at several lots on campus (see below within "Directions").

Required Items to Bring:
Warm, weather-appropriate clothing
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Snowpants
$$ for drinks and snacks after the event

How to Get There:
Event Directions:The festival will be held within the University of Alberta North (Main) Campus Quad. For those unfamiliar with the University of Alberta's campus, the Quad is a large open space located between 89th Avenue and Saskatchewan Drive that is bordered by several buildings, notably including the Student Union Building (SUB) at its south-west corner, the Central Academic Building (CAB) at its east side, and the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science (CCIS) building at its north side. A map is available here.

The University of Alberta Quad is easily accessible from the University Transit Centre and LRT Station. Free parking will be available at the university for the event in the Education Car Park (east side of 114 Street, north of 87th Avenue), Stadium Car Park (89th Avenue, just east of 116 Street), Windsor Car Park (116 Street, just south of Saskatchewan Drive) and Surface Lots U & N (east of HUB Mall, accessed from 111 Street).

We will meet at 6:30 PM inside the doors at the north- east entrance to the Student Union Building (SUB) (the doors facing the quad).
