Itinerary:
Dust off your camping gear and spend a summer evening camping at Strathcona Wilderness Centre!
SWC is located east of Sherwood Park, and is a wonderful area for outdoor activities.

I have booked a small campsite (Campsite #2) for one night - ie. overnight on Saturday July 5th.
We will meet at 3:30pm at SWC for registration, and it is a short and easy walk with your camping gear (a few mins walk) to Campsite #2.
SWC will provide firewood and fresh water for us, but we provide the rest - ie. camping equipment and food.
There are no showers or flush toilets at SWC, so please bear this in mind if it is an issue for you.

We will have supper and enjoy some exploration and socializing in the area that evening, before retiring for the night.
On the Sunday, we will need to be packed up and out of the campsite by noon at the latest.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING POINTS:
1. This is a "rustic camping" site (like you tend to get whilst backpacking).
Therefore, there are no showers or flush toilets!

2. Check the backpacking checklist for what is needed.
Backpacking Checklist
Bear in mind we are camping for one night, so you will need sufficient food / equipment for one night.

3. The campsite currently booked has a maximum for 5 tents / 8 people.
If the event maximum has been reached, by all means go on the waitlist.
In the event of enough people going on the waitlist, and subject to availability at the SWC, we may be able to move to a larger campsite.

4. SWC do not permit alcohol at their facility, so to maintain the good relationship between the SWC and the EOC, please do not bring any alcohol. This is not negotiable!

5. We will have to comply with any fire bans that may be in effect at the time, and this will be confirmed nearer the time.

6. There will not be a formal carpool arranged for this event.
If you require transport to/from this event, please email the coordinators.

7. If you are without any camping / backpacking equipment, you can rent equipment from a number of outdoor stores in Edmonton - a Google search will send you in the right direction.
It is the participant's responsibility to ensure they have the neccessary equipment. If you do not have camping equipment and are unable to obtain any, then you will not be able to take part in this event.

8. If you are signing up for this event, when doing so please advise in the "notes" section whether you will be sharing a tent with anyone else in the group, or tenting by yourself.
Also, please advise if you are happy to share any enquipment with other attendees - eg. cooking equipment etc.

9. The "cut-off" date is set to over a week before the event date, because SWC has a 7-day cancellation policy.
We will need to be pretty certain of names / numbers by the 27th June.
