Itinerary:
Meet at the parking lot at the east end (nearest the river) of Buena Vista Road - note that this is separate from the Valley Zoo parking lot.

We will meet at 10:45am for a 11:00am start.
I will be wearing a yellow EOC cap and standing by a grey Hyundai wagon so you can recognise me.

We will head north through Buena Vista Park, and should say hello to all the doggies who will no doubt be enjoying themselves in the off-leash dog park!
We'll then head up Melton Ravine, which in itself is nothing special, but it takes us up into a neighbourhood from where we can access my new favourite view in Edmonton - overlooking a wide sweep of the River Valley from Valley View Drive.
Once we've enjoyed the view, we will return to the River Valley, do an "out and back" along Mackenzie Ravine, then head up a steady climb out of the River Valley to Riverside Drive, where there is yet another panoramic view of Edmonton!
We will then return via the same route (minus the Ravines) to the starting point.

Difficulty: I intend this walk to be at a "moderate / brisk" pace - approx 5km/hr.
Also, there are steady but not too severe climbs in both Ravines, plus a steeper one up to Riverside Drive.

Dogs are very welcome on this hike, if you are bringing your dog(s), please note this when you are registering.

Note that currently the forecast for next weekend is fairly mild, so it may be quite soft/slushy conditions underfoot.
However, please keep an eye on your emails and the weather forecast, in case the weather turns nasty again.
