Itinerary:
Saturday at 10:00 am we will meet at the Waskahegan Staging Area within Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area. We will walk 11 km through gently rolling hills to the Lost Lake Shelter. This will take 3-5 hours. We will set up camp, spend the night, and Sunday we will walk out. Sunday we will start walking around 10 am again, and should be back to the cars by 3:00 pm.
Potable water is supplied, it is limited, but should be sufficient for all of us for the weekend. Bring a water bottle full of water for the walk in.
I will have a group First Aid Kit, but each person should have a few supplies of their own, for blisters, etc.
There is pit toilets and they usually have toilet paper, but it wouldn't hurt to bring your own as well.
The park is supplying wood for a fire but there is only one fire pit. The Lost Lake Shelter is a small building, we can't really sleep in it but we can cook in it if it is raining, and it contains a wood burning stove so we can heat it.
THERE IS NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED IN THE PARK.
If you have any questions about gear or food or anything, please call Donna at 481 4756.
The cost of this overnight is free, there is no cost to use the Recreation Area, so you will just have to supply your own food, and make your own arrangements to pay for car pooling.
