Itinerary:

We will drive out to Nordegg on Friday evening and spend 2 nights at the Shunda Creek Hostel taking advantage of the wonderful hikes (and other activities) available in the area. Hikes will be determined as a group once at the hostel.

The entire hostel is reserved for the COC and EOC, so total number of participants should be around 40.

On Saturday night we will have a pot luck dinner. I will e-mail with more details closer to the event. After dinner we will have a poker tournament!! (optional) with a $5 entry fee.

We will be staying in a co-ed dorm cabin. Bedding will be provided and sleeping bags are NOT permitted. There are fridges, stoves, pots, pans dishes and cuttlery. There is running water and hot showers.

- A waiver if you haven't yet signed one for 2007

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

South on Hwy 2 until the Lacombe turn off Hwy 12. West on Hwy 12 until you come to Hwy 22. South on Hwy 22 until you come to Hwy 11. West on Hwy 11 until you come to Nordegg.

The hostel is just west of Nordegg, 3 km north of Highway 11 on the Shunda Creek Recreation Area Road. Keep left at the fork in the road.

The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $174.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Friday, April 25, 2025). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

Notes:

Dogs are permitted however they cannot enter the hostel. They will need to sleep outside or in your vehicle.
- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the EOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where EOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refunds of money if you cancel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.
