Fort Edmonton Park / Conditioning Hike (6/12/2012)

Itinerary:
This is a conditioning hike, it is more difficult than an urban hike. It is Spring and time for some exercise, no better place than the river valley and some of the challenging stairs it provides. So come on out and get fit for the hiking season. We will meet in the parking lot at Fort Edmonton Park at 6:05 p.m. for registration and leaving at 6:15PM. for the hike.
Could encounter slippery conditions, dress accordingly. We will start with a small walk to the Fox Drive stairs and climb up and down them for about ten minutes. Then we will continue on with our hike into Hawrelak Park and climb anouther set of stairs for ten minutes. Then we will return back on the north side of the river, past Laurier to the Quesnell bridge back to our cars. The event should be about two hours long.
Be sure to bring water and if need be, trail mix, power bars, to keep hydrated and energized during the hike..

How to Get There:
Event Directions:To get to Fort Edmonton Park take Whitemud to Fox Drive.
Take a left turn on Fort Edmonton Park Rd NW and follow the road into the parking lot.
We will meet on the East side close to the River Loop trail head.
Dave will be in the Blue civic
