This is a weekend backpack trip to picturesque Egypt Lake in Banff. To spice it up a bit from a regular in-and-out trip, we're going to take a slightly different route in than we are out!

We'll meet at the University Transit Centre and leave for Banff at 7:45 AM sharp, stopping briefly in Calgary for lunch. At 1:00 PM, we catch a shuttle bus from the Sunshine Village parking lot to the base of the ski resort. We'll hike through two alpine areas, Simpson Pass and Healy Pass, before descending to the Egypt Lake campground to set up camp, relax and explore the area.

The following day, we'll make our way back over Healy Pass, and continue with a gradual descent to return to the parking area. On our way back to Edmonton, we'll make a stop in Airdrie for dinner.

NOTES:
- You should be fit enough to carry a heavy backpack for the distance/elevation.
- We will be passing through alpine terrain, so please be prepared for high winds, low temperatures and snow, even though it's July.
- The coordinator is organizing a single carpool for this event, the out-of-pocket expenses for which are covered in the event cost.
- This is a first-paid, first-get-on event. Payment is due immediately upon registration, or you will be moved to the waiting list. If you didn't pay and someone else on the waitlist did, they will get on before you!
- Refunds after the cut off are not possible, but you can find a replacement and work out the payment amongst yourselves.
- Sharing of tents and other equipment will be required. Details will be worked out once the participant list is finalized.
- Missing a tent, sleeping bag, pad or other gear? Equipment rentals are available at MEC!

WAITLISTERS
This is a first paid first get on event. If you add yourself to the waiting list and you see the event hasn't hit the max participant number yet, send in your payment and you will be added ahead of other waitlisters. Any overbooking will be fully refunded.

The event cost is the sum of my out of pocket expenses, which are vehicle rental ($25.33), gas ($17.37), wilderness passes ($9.80), wilderness pass reservation fees ($2.73), Paypal/Bank fees ($2.50), and the Sunshine Meadows Shuttle ticket cost ($15.00). I am volunteering as the driver and offering my park entry pass to share with the group. You will get a partial refund if actual vehicle costs are lower.
