Write Up:
Despite rain overnight, 17 people still turned up at Emily Murphy Park on Sunday morning for our hike. The trails were a bit damp, but dried up as the day progressed. Much of the hike was on pavement anyway. It wound up being a nice, cool fall day, and while it was overcast at the start, it brightened up and warmed up, too.

We hiked all the way down the south shore to the Cloverdale pedestrian bridge and crossed, then took a short detour up a few flights of stairs to see the Chinese gardens that overlook the river valley. We paused for a short break, with a view of the valley below the Conference Centre and of the Edmonton Queen, then returned on the north bank of the river.

It was a fast group - the entire hike of 13 km took just under three hours, for an average speed of about 4 km. per hour.

Thanks for coming out! I hope you all had enjoyed yourself, and got a bit of exercise at the same time.

I look forward to seeing you all again at future events. Keep a close eye on the calendar.
