Write Up:
Today we met up at Bonnie Doon and head about 35 mins. east of Edmonton to our hiking destination – Islet Lake in the Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Park.

The 12 of us had cloudy skies for the majority of the hike with quite a bit of humidity due to the rain overnight & possibly in the morning as the grassy trails were very wet & muddy along the way. Later on near the end the clouds disappeared & it got quite sunny - very nice for hanging out at the end!

We hiked for about a couple of hours (9.4 km) along the Highline, Lost, Porcupine, Siksika trails then stopped for our lunch break for about 45 mins. (I think)

After lunch we looped back around to the parking lot. This was about 6.6 km along the Siksika, Lost lake, Porcupine, Push Lake trails.

The hike was very pleasant with several rolling hills along the way. The views of the lakes – Islet and Elk Push – were very picturesque.

We hiked approx. 16 km in about 3 hrs. 30 mins. (of hiking time, I think - I completely forgot to time it - having too much fun with the group!)

Once we got back to Bonnie Doon, 4 of us headed for a delicious dinner & dessert at Fiore's on 109th Street just south of the High Level Bridge.

Thanks again everyone for coming out & helping me finally complete the loop!

& thank Amulya for being such a good sport about the pretend rain on the bare feet while you were sleeping on the grass!! ;)
