Canoers could not have asked for a more beautiful day. There was a great level of sun and heat and not more wind than paddlers could handle. Some learnt how to steer the canoe while others refreshed their skills. There was a nice mix of experience. Our guide did a wonderful job keeping up in the single canoe. Julie tried the solo but did not get far before tipping the boat and watering everything inside it. A canoe full of water is very difficult to move even when it is small. The group started slow but after lunch the pace increased. Everyone was happy to see the Devon bridge where the group got off the river and help load the canoes. Food and sleep was on the forefront of everyones mind even though some had to go home and walk the dog or take care of kids, spouses, and/or laundry. See you next year...
