Write Up:
We had an absolutely awesome weekend in Jasper Park! We met out at the Mt. Edith Cavell hostel late on Friday evening, and most of us stayed up late socializing around the fire, meeting each other and some of the other hostel guests. We had a leisurely Saturday morning, and converged at the trailhead for the Whistlers mountain hiking trail at about 11 AM. We made it to the top after 4 hours of hiking, and enjoyed a well-deserved long stay at the summit - extended slightly longer than expected because of mechanical delays on the Jasper tram (not so bad, considering that there was a restaurant on the summit). We feasted on mountains of unhealthy food at the Dead Dog in Jasper, then returned for another night around the campfire at the hostel. We maintained the unhealthy eating habits by feasting on eggs, bacon and fried potatoes on Sunday morning. Most of us burned a few of the calories by strolling along the Path of the Glacier trail at Mt. Edith Cavell - even though it was pouring rain - before heading back to Edmonton.

Kudos go to:
- Jenn J, for cooking up the most awesome breakfast ever!
- Narmin: Narmin was originally planning to co-coordinate this trip with me, but later found herself unable to attend. She did make some invaluable contributions to the early stages of planning of the weekend, including making the arrangements for the hostel, which I would like to recognize.

Thanks everyone for coming out! I had a blast this weekend, and I think everyone else did too. I definitely hope to see you all again soon.
-Ryan
