Sat, Jan 18 2014 - Elk Island - Amisk Wuche & Beaver Pond Trails (View Original Event Details)

We had a lovely, warm, sunny day at Elk Island National Park. Also we lucked out and the park pass machine wasn't working - so it was definitely a perfect day!
For the first of the two trails, we hiked at Amisk Wuche Trail (2.5km), enjoyed some tasty lunch/snacks then about half of the group snowshoed and the other half hiked the Beaver Pond Trail (3.5km). Good times were had by all - lovely pics and even had friendly snowball fight - especially when I was stuck in the snow! ;)
4 of us heading back to the carpool location helped out an SUV that was stuck in the snow then we decided to drive around the bison loop. Weren't we the lucky group - we were stuck behind a large herd of bison crossed the road. After the 4 of us also headed for a well deserved coffee break along Alberta Avenue.
