Write Up:
It was a very hot day outside and we all thought we'd be escaping into an air conditioned gym but it turned out to be an oven once the protective clothing and face guard were put on. After learning how to score points and a few attack and "paré" tricks with the sabre, everyone dueled it out in the fierce heat.
Thanks to everyone who came out to wield a sword in the brutal heat - it was a fantastic way to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon.

And thanks to Jeff with the Edmonton Fencing Club for teaching us "Fencing 101". I'm sure we'll be back to battle it out again (but in the fall or winter when it's cooler outside!).
