The two of us were welcomed with a glass of champagne followed by food stations located throughout the Zoo catered in by the Coast Plaza Hotel. They offered smoked salmon on baguettes, marinated veggie salad, shrimp with garlic, a cheese and fruit platter, a huge selection of cakes, squares, and cookies, among a lot of other food items plus wine samples.
We were lucky and got to go on a tour of the Arctic Shores, their brand new exhibit featuring some noisy but cute seals! We also saw Lucy the Elephant venturing around the grounds and playing with her food. We caught the tail end of the Wolves talk but got lots of pictures of them.
There was a silent auction but we didn't bid on any of the items.
