Sat, Nov 13 2010 - Elk Island Hike, Moss Lake (View Original Event Details)
|
A bit of a late start because of a herd of bison crossing the road, but a dozen people made it to the Moss Lake trailhead in time to leave on our hike.
The forecast showed the possibility of showers and maybe even snow, but since I have the ear of the weather gods (ask Amulya!) it stayed dry, although cool, for the entire three hours. Unlike many of the Elk Island trails, Moss Lake has a few hills, and we all got a bit of exercise. The bison stayed mostly in the south end of the park and we didn't meet any on the trails.
All in all, a nice walk on a fall Saturday. See you next time - who
knows, maybe we'll be able to use our snowshoes!
