We had an excellent backpacking weekend! We left on Saturday morning and took an expedited lunch break along the way to stay on schedule with the Celestine Road hours. The weather forecast of thunderstorms ended up being just a couple of minor flurries, making for great hiking. Everyone stayed together and got along really well! We took a couple of quick photo breaks and a longer break at the North Boundary Trail fork, where we had a little scare when one person found a tick on their backpack. After a tick check that came up clear, we continued on to the campsite and setup our tents. We headed to the Devona Lookout for more pictures, and with built-up appetites, returned to camp to have dinner. Afterwards, a few people decided to take a walk along the lake shore, while the rest stayed and built a fire for the evening. As the sun set, we grouped around the fire till bedtime. We slept in, eventually getting around to packing up having breakfast under the clear Sunday morning sky. On the way back to the city, we decided to stop at Miette Hot Springs where a couple of us enjoyed the springs while the rest challenged themselves with a hike partway up the Sulphur Skyline Trail. We had dinner in Hinton and got back to the city at 10 PM, tired but very happy about the trip.
