Seventeen people made it out to Chickakoo on Saturday for our event, and we spent a nice couple of hours wandering around through the bush. It was a great day for a hike; started out cool but warmed up through the day with sunny skies. A couple of people were running a bit late, but caught up with us on the trails - it was the first time I've ever finished an event with more people than I left the trailhead with! We chose the harder direction, and covered every trail out there by winding back and around over the routes. Trail conditions could best be described as "varied". People with cleats and/or hiking poles were glad they had them for the icy sections, and a few muddy spots slowed us down. Total distance was over 12 km. and we finished right on time with an estimated speed of over 4 km/hr. Thanks to everyone for coming out.
