The smoke kept us socked in with lousy visibility until we reached the Bald Hills lookout, then the clouds magically parted giving us great views of the mountains surrounding Maligne Lake. We bagged a couple of interesting and somewhat challenging peaks, then came down again.
Some people headed for town to grab an early beer and dinner before checking out Maligne Canyon in the evening. Three others did the Mary Schaffer Loop before hitting a Jasper restaurant then lounging at the Jasper swimming pool.
Rain overnight, so we decided to skip Sulphur Skyline (probably slippery) and substitute Cavell Meadows and the Path of the Glacier. A gorgeous hike and some wonderful pictures.
We grabbed lunch in the parking lot then went off to Miette to soak in the hot springs before returning to Edmonton.
Nobody snored, and the company was great all around. Good times.
