Itinerary:
NOTE: This event is for those with little or no climbing experience, who wish to try out top-rope indoor rock climbing. If you have climbing gear and your belay check, or you wish to boulder (climbing on the lower walls without safety gear), consider signing up for the No Instruction Event.

Wanna add in a fun workout to your fall/winter "keep in shape" plans? Look no further. Join us at the EOC monthly climbing night.

Vertically Inclined Rock Gym (VIRG) is a great indoor rock gym with plenty of climbing space. VIRG is equipped with top rope systems, lead climb areas and pulleys. VIRG has plenty of bouldering space for those not ready for ropes.

Event cost includes general introduction to climbing, basic instruction and all requisite gear.

Following some basic instruction, you will pair off to climb the walls on your own. No previous experience is necessary as you will receive instruction on how to use some of the top ropes.

Please note: the climbing instruction you will receive is equivalent to the Climbing Adventure orientation program offered at the gym. You will not have enough knowledge after this introduction to climb on all of the ropes in the climbing gym and the VIRG staff will be there to conduct safety checks prior to you climbing selected ropes. More advanced instruction is required before you can complete your belay check, which allows you to climb at the gym without staff checks.
