Trip to Hinton and Jasper

We will meet at 5PM at a carpool location (See below). Our departure time is 515/530PM at the latest. Carpool arrangements will be decided before hand, please indicate if you prefer to be passenger or driver. Payments for gas/carpooling will be decided before hand. We should be arriving in at our destination at 8/830PM. Please bring your own food for lunch. We enjoy dinners as a group at a restaurant. Breakfast is provided at the hotel.
The group will check into the hotel, and then head out for dinner to make plans for next day

Skating and dinner (Aalto) at pyramid lake

Skating at Mildred Lake and dinner in Jasper

Skiing at Marmot Basin (half day), dinner options: The Raven Bistro, Aalto, The Maligne Range

Please send in payments of $140 to bmk@ualberta.ca. Please indicate if you are willing to drive or be a passenger. What is your restaurant preference. If you are buying a discovery lesson or getting a half day lift ski pass instead. If you are bringing own gear.

The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $261.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Friday, December 26, 2025). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

Discover packages include: Full-day equipment rental, Discover lift tickets and 2 hour lesson for 155 dollars. Discover lift tickets are valid only for the Magic Carpet, School House Chair and 2 runs on the Eagle Express Quad.
