Itinerary:

At 6:00am we will meet at and depart from Starbucks (9504 Ellerslie Rd SW, Edmonton). Carpool arrangements will be decided before hand; please indicate if you prefer to be passenger or driver. Payments for gas/carpooling should be $50 each. The passengers will provide the coordinator with their carpool amount to cover cost of gas and car maintenance and the coordinator will distribute it to the carpool drivers. Please bring your own lunch and snacks or, if you wish, at 9am we will be stopping at Copper Creek Cafe 5033 Main Street, Rocky Mountain House for a quick pit stop and/or to pick up drinks/lunch items as needed. At 10am our hike begins at the Siffleur Falls trailhead and should be approximately 1.5 hours return depending on conditions, snacking time, and taking advantage of many picturesque vistas along the way. Following the hike, we will head to Abraham Lake to paddleboard and for those who wish to continue with another hike, we will head to the Coral Creek Canyon trailhead just down the road. At 4pm, we may wish to share a meal at a local favorite - The Miner's Cafe (619 Unit A Miners Crescent, Nordegg). This will be determined by the group.

NOTE THE PLANNED HIKE MAY CHANGE DEPENDING ON WEATHER CONDITIONS.


Required Items to Bring:
  • Carpool cash $50
  • Hiking boots
  • Long pants
  • Rain gear and wind proof clothing regardless of the weather forecast
  • Water 2L
  • Snacks and Lunch/Supper
  • Hat
  • Bear spray
  • Desired equipment for paddleboarding if desired

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $201.26 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Friday, August 29, 2025). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
