Itinerary:
We will meet in the Valley Zoo main parking lot just before Sir Wilfred Laurier Park, west of Buena Vista Road at 6:45 PM for registration and leave at 6:50 PM for the hike.
We will be hiking at a brisk pace from the parking lot to the Buena Vista Off Leash area, going across the footbridge connecting to Hawrelak Park. We will then follow the river South West to parallel Fox Drive to the Quesnel Bridge . After we cross the river we will circle back to the Zoo along the original side of the river through Sir Wilfred Laurier Park. Some sections of the trail are steep and they can be slippery. Good footwear is essential, and ice cleats are often required.

Experienced intermediate hikers are all welcome, but please be advised that this hike has a very brisk pace (5.5 km/h) with single track narrow trails *and elevation. If you are signing up to the advanced hike, we expect you to keep up to the quick pace so you don't fall too far behind and lose the group.

  • **Please respect each other’s space with the required social distancing of all people in public spaces.
