**COVID-19: You must provide proof you are fully vaccinated on my EOC events. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.**

**Please note:
- I am only going to have 8 people max including myself on this event.
- This will be a moderately paced walk of ~4.5km/hr.
- This event will be weather dependent, please check the EOC calendar and your email for any updates.

About this walk: ~10-12km, ~2-2.5 hours

Located at the end of Saskatchewan Avenue West along the North Saskatchewan River, this beautiful area includes a boat launch, picnic tables, Gazebo, and washroom facilities. Voyageur Park is also the westernmost point for the beginning of the River Valley Alliance parks and trail system that starts here in Devon and runs all the way to the County of Strathcona to Fort Saskatchewan, a full 88km of riverfront integrated park.

Here is a map of Devon's trails so we will go and check some of them out, including "The Legs of Fire" stairs.

The event begins at the parking lot at Devon Voyageur Park on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan River. The trails are accessed to the east of the parking lot and begin by following the river bank for a short distance along paved then dirt paths.

**Please note that proper hiking footwear with good support and grip is essential, as some sections are steep and challenging.

In summary, this is not an easy hike - there are lots of significant gradients throughout the whole hike and you will get a good workout! However, it is a very scenic area and well worth visiting.

**There could be icy sections on this paved trail so please bring your ice grips with.
