River Valley Urban Hike and Celtic Night (9/16/2008)

Itinerary:
We will meet in front of the Safeway at the intersection of Whyte Avenue and 109 Street, and take an urban hike that will take us through Emily Murphy Park to Hawrelak Park. After looping around Hawrelak Park, we will cross the river at Groat Road, and hike east through Victoria Park. Crossing the North Saskatchewan again at the Walterdale Bridge, we will hike through Queen Elizabeth Park, then make our way up the river valley back to Whyte Avenue. In total, we should hike approximately 8-10 km, and we will walk for 1-2 hours.

We will almost certainly work up an appetite on this hike! We will finish our evening at O'Byrne's Pub on Whyte Avenue (10616 82 Ave.), where we will enjoy some live music, taking in their weekly Celtic Night.
