Itinerary:
Maximum 12 people at the hostel.
As we will be ascending mountains on most trails. Ensure you have a good level of fitness and are able to do 3-4 hours of snowshoeing on uphill ascents and an additional 1-2 hours on the way down.

Day 1 Arrival Friday: We will meet up at the hostel anytime after 4 pm check in. We will discuss getting keys at the pre-meeting as well as room assignments.

Day 2- Chester Lake (10 km) and Hogarth Trail- 4 km- easy and quite flat- very scenic and relaxing)
Day 3 - Harvey Heights (up to 5 km) Elevation gain 300 metres and there is a couple of short steep areas. Great views
TBA - Bragg Creek and 1 other on the way home as time and weather conditions allows. Options can be discuss as the weekend moves along.

Trails may change depending on weather/trail conditions.

The Alpine Club of Canada(ACC) Boswell Cabins are located 5 km east of Canmore. Cabins can accommodate up to 12 people.
We will also have full access to the main lodge which has fireplace, sitting area and games room and commercial kitchen if needed.
About the hostel: Bedding will be provided and sleeping bags are NOT permitted.
Bring your own food for the weekend. A potluck dinner may be organized if there is interest.


**To register you must first add your name to the waiting list, then pay the cost directly to the event coordinator via e- transfer to Robkent@telus.net The security question is "what is the name of the cabin we are staying in? answer is 'Boswell'. Once full payment has been received, your name will be moved over to the registration.Your spot is not confirmed until full Payment has been made, regardless of where you are in the line. First to pay, first to play.


The hostel also has free WiFi, a games room and TV for those interested. There will be a pre-meeting scheduled Thursday February 21st at 6:30 pm at the Bonnie Doon Professional Centre SUITE 221. 82 ave and 83 street. We really want everyone there to confirm driving, food and room assignments as well as a general overview of what to bring and expect for the weekend.

Required Items to Bring:
Snowshoes, poles, snow boots or hiking boots, appropriate warm clothing - wear layers, gaiters, knapsack, Cleats and or Spikes may be required. Be prepared for this on trails. water bottle, cleats, layered clothing, gaiters, toiletries, food/ beverages for 2 nights 3 days, etc.
Food/beverages for all meals. Full kitchens on both sides.
Recommended Items to Bring:

Flashlight or headlight. Ziploc bags for lunches, treats, snacks, games, etc.

How to Get There:

The ACC Clubhouse and Boswell Cabin are 5 km east of Canmore, just off Hwy 1A. From the TransCanada Highway take the 1A exit (#91) and travel east approximately 1 km to Indian Flats Road (turn left), continue on the road to the top of the hill. You must park in the two lower lots near the clubhouse but can drop off your gear by driving up to the Boswell cabin and adjacent to the Bell Cabin).

Carpool Cost: The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $290.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Friday, April 19, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.

You must pay directly to Robkent@telus.net Once payment is made, you will be moved over to the registration list.
We will attempt to place same gender in rooms. There are 12 beds available. 4 rooms and 2 sofa beds to accommodate additional people. It is on a first come first serve basis depending on sign up and consideration for gender.


The Coordinators may contact you to discuss your skill and fitness level to ensure you can do these hikes if you have not attended any of our previous events.
- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the EOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where EOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refunds of money if you cancel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.
