Itinerary:

We will drive out to Elk Island Park and meet at Astotin Lake area. The trailhead for the Lakeview Trail can be reached by parking near the boat launch and walking over the small hill near the lake.

We will snowshoe the Lakeview Trail which is 3.3km and about 1 hour. We will try and have our packed lunch at Astotin Lake at a picque-nicque shelter or bench overlooking the lake.

This will be a very slow paced snowshoe and the trail is quite easy so we will have lots of time to enjoy the winter scenary in Elk Island and Astotin Lake.

Please note that your co-ordinator has not done this trail before, please allow time and patience for any unforseen circumstances.
