Itinerary:
The Science in the Cinema film series is organized by Alberta Innovates - Health Solutions. All of the film screenings in the series are free (they also provide free popcorn). After the film is shown, there will be a short Q and A led by a health science researcher who will discuss science issues relating to the film.

The film that we will see for the October Screening is Shake Hands With the Devil , a 2007 drama that stars Roy Dupuis and Deborah Kara Unger. Shake Hands with the Devil is based on Canadian Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire's award- winning book of the same name and portrays General Dallaire’s frustrated efforts to stop the Rwandan Genocide, despite the indifference of his superiors. The discussion after the movie will focus on the latest research into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

You can also watch a trailer for the film.

Please meet me inside the Garneau Theatre at 6:10 PM, outside the doors to the main auditorium. To help you spot me, I will wear a yellow ballcap with the EOC logo on it. At 6:20 (or once everyone has arrived) we'll find seats together inside the auditorium. I would expect the film screening to begin promptly at 6:30 and that the theatre will be packed, so if you arrive late please find your own seat inside the auditorium and let me know afterwards (by text/e-mail) so that I don't flag you as a no- show for the event.

The film is listed as 112 minutes in length and will likely end around 8:30. The Q&A that follows should last 20-30 minutes.
