Itinerary:
This is the 5th in my series of backpack conditioning hikes. This hike will challenge us with undulating hills and beautiful scenery.
If you have been on all of these hikes by now you should have upgraded to a full pack that you would use for a backpacking trip.
We will be hiking approx. 12 km & will take us about 4 hours of hiking time at a moderate pace.

Approx. Time Frame (Could vary depending on the number & length of breaks along the way!)
10:00am – meet up at carpool location – south East corner of the Bonnie Doon mall parking lot.
10:15 am SHARP– drive out to Islet Lake
11:00am – Leave for the hike
We will stop at the lost lake shelter for a lunch break.
3:00-4 pm (approx) – drive back to Bonnie Doon

Please note that we will be meeting up at the carpool location at Bonnie Doon Mall at 10:00am & leaving there at 10:15am SHARP! My intention is to arrive at Islet Lake around 10:50am.

We will enjoy a moderate paced day hike. The terrain is varied between flat & slightly hilly sections.

Please bring a lunch and sufficient water for the day for this trip - we will be stopping at a picnic shelter on the trail for about 30 minutes.

Click HERE for a map of the area and the location of the Blackfoot area. The Islet Lake staging area is at the bottom of the page (south).

Click HERE for a map of the area showing all the trails.

If you have somewhere to be by mid afternoon, please do not sign up for this event as we might be later than expected if the trails are muddy.

Susan has grey Hyundai and will meet you at the carpool, south east corner of Bonniedoon Mall Parking lot.

Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $23.20 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Friday, April 19, 2024).
