Itinerary:
The Snow Valley skihill is located just off the Whitemud Freeway on 119 Street, at the south end of Whitemud Park. It is a small hill, perfect for beginner skiers or snowboarders, and/or for those wanting to polish up their skills prior to taking some ski trips out to the mountains this winter.

On Friday evenings, Snow Valley offers their 5 O'clock Friday discount. The cost for a lift pass for the evening (5-9 PM) is only is $5 + GST if you bring a non-perishable donation for the Edmonton Food Bank, or $10+GST without. If you need rental equipment it will cost you an additional $10 + GST for alpine ski equipment, or $17 + GST for snowboard equipment. NOTE: These prices only go into effect RIGHT AT 5:00PM so if you buy it earlier than that you will need to pay the full afternoon price. We will meet up at 5:30 PM, and then get in line for our passes.

You will be required to sign a Snow Valley waiver form on arrival.

We will meet inside the chalet at one of the tables (it is a small chalet) - check out the volunteers section of the website to see my picture, so you will know who to look for.

Once everyone has checked in with me and we've done introductions, the group will be free to either start skiing or to go and get their rentals. If you'd like me to wait for you, please let me know during check in. I will momentarily pause in front of the ski racks outside of the chalet every 30 minutes throughout the evening, so that anyone who wants to ski as part of a group can reconverge.

If you expect to arrive after 5:30 PM, that is acceptable but please let me know in advance so we'll know how to find you. It can be very busy on the ski-hill on a Friday.

Please note: If the weather becomes extremely cold or the conditions are otherwise unfavourable, I may be forced to cancel this event. As of November 21, the long-range forecast calls for seasonal temperatures on November 29 (just below zero degrees), but that can certainly change. I have set a cut-off for 8 AM on Friday; if I have to cancel the event (either due to poor weather or because too few people sign up for this event), I will let everyone know by e-mail on Friday morning.
