Itinerary:

Let's get out for a little easy snowshoe fun. Beginners ARE ENCOURAGED to come out and try it. It's a great opportunity to just check out the sport before you tackle something harder, or out-of-town.

Of you don't own snowshoes, you can rent them at MEC or Totem Outfitters.

There are trails winding through the entire park on the Southside of the North Saskatchewan River. Some trails in the park are wide and well trodden. Others are more narrow and uneven. Parts of the snowshoe will require some up and downhill as well. But it's well worth it to reach some of the scenic points of the park overlooking the river.

To find me, I'll be driving a silver Toyota Rav4 and wearing my yellow EOC baseball cap. Also please refer to my EOC profile pic so you can recognize me.

Required Items to Bring:
Water
Weather-appropriate clothing (toques, gloves, etc., and dress in synthetic layers)
Snowshoes and boots are required
Hiking poles are strongly recommended
Participants must provide their own equipment - snowshoes can be rented at MEC or Totem
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Snack
Camera
Sunglasses

How to Get There:
Event Directions:The park is located at the very west end of Rabbit Hill road, off Terwillegar Drive.

For those coming from Whitemud Drive, take the Terwillegar exit, and turn right at Rabbit Hill Road. The road will go down the hill into the Terwillegar Park parking lot, which is where we will meet.

Notes:
Consider renting snowshoes.
This is an excellent way to experience the sport without a large commitment money or time wise.

If you are renting snowshoes you may wish to reserve these rentals earlier than later as these rentals are especially popular on weekends.

When you arrange your rental it may be worth enquiring at the store whether the rental or a portion of the cost may be applied towards the purchase of this equipment at a future date.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.
