Itinerary:

Meet in the parking lot at Fort Edmonton Park at 9.30a.m. for a 9:45a.m. departure. Meet at the eastern part of the parking lot, furthest away from Fort Edmonton Park

We will head west alongside the river past Fort Edmonton, then cross the new Fort Edmonton footbridge to the west side of the river.
Once we get to the west side, there is a trail that I would like to explore further.
On my previous hike of Sat Sept 12th, we walked along part of a trail that heads south from the footbridge along the west side of the river.
If you look at Google Maps, this takes you towards an area referred to as "River Valley Oleskiw". It was a large relatively open area and quite picturesque, and it would be interesting to explore any parts that are legally accessible!
I have nicknamed the trail "grasshopper trail" as there were hundreds of grasshoppers hopping around by our feet as we visited last week! :-)

Depending upon how long we spend at "grasshopper trail", we may have time to walk over to the infamous "evil stairs" (200 of them) for some additional torture, sorry - I mean exercise!
After our exploring, we will cross the river again, and return to the meeting place via the upper trail past Fort Edmonton.

Dogs are welcome on this hike: dog owners - please remember to register your dog too.

At the meeting place, Ian will be in a grey Hyundai Elantra, and wearing a very stylish yellow EOC baseball cap so you can recognise him.
