We will join the folks at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre for an evening of touring the trails by moonlight. The trails are rated as easy & intermediate with a few steep hills. This area has some trails that are suited for less experienced skiers & for those that do not want to ski long distances. We will be grouped according to experience. Please bring a headlamp. There is a heated lodge on site with washrooms.

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals are responsible for their own registrations for the moonlight ski. You can register for the ski by calling 780-922-3939 or you can register online via click-it

Strathcona Wilderness Centre has on-site rentals - the "Adult Ski Package (waxless)" is $13.50.

How to Get There:

The Strathcona Wilderness Centre is located 20 minutes east of Sherwood Park on Township Road 530 (Baseline Road) & south on Range Road 212.

To get there coming from the carpool location at Bonnie Doon Mall: go east along Whyte Avenue (82nd Ave) which turns into Sherwood Park Freeway then Wye Road. Turn north (left) at Highway 21, then east (right) on Township Road 530. Turn south (right) on Range Road 212 for 1km.

To get there coming from Yellowhead Trail(Hwy #16): travel east on hwy 16, turn south (right) at Range Road 212, & go about 3.2km & cross Township Road 530 & it's about 1km into the parking lot.

When you get to the facility, look for the coordinator with the yellow EOC hat in the lodge.

The event coordinator(s) will help you to arrange a centralized carpool if you require it, but it's not guaranteed. Please DO NOT pay your driver en route. Passengers will pay the coordinator, and he/she will distribute the money to the carpool drivers. SO PLEASE BRING CASH!!! Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $23.20 (calculated at total Km * $0.29, effective Thursday, April 25, 2024). This is based on $0.09/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divided by 9. This cost will be multiplied by the number of carpooled cars, and divided by the number of carpool participants.
