Itinerary:

We will meet at 10:30am for a 10:40 departure.
Meet at the parking lot (corner nearest the river) for the Valley Zoo, by the end of Buena Vista Road.
I will be wearing a yellow EOC cap, and be standing close to a grey Hyundai wagon.
Please look out for me on the right - ie. don't drive onto another parking lot!

This hike will be at a brisk pace and there are a few significant inclines and stairs, so this will not be a suitable hike for "slowpokes".

We will walk south from the Zoo parking lot through Sir Wilfred Laurier Park, and will make our way up to the footbridge over Whitemud Drive, crossing over into Quesnell Heights.
We'll then walk through the residential area of Rio Terrace, join up with the trails through Patricia Ravine and make our way down to and across Fort Edmonton Footbridge.
Once on the east side of the river, we will continue along the riverside trail by Fort Edmonton Park, cross the Quesnell Bridge on its east side, and return via Sir Wilfred Laurier Park to the starting point.

Please note the following:
1/ Suitable footwear & clothing for the conditions is required.
2/ Dogs are welcome on this hike, and if you are bringing your dog(s) then they must be included in the registration.
3/ Dog owners must comply with all City of Edmonton bylaws.
4/ This will be at a brisk pace, so you must be able to walk at a good pace for approx 3.5 to 4.0 hours (although we will have short breaks along the way).
