Servus Heritage Festival 2012 marks the 37th year of this annual three-day showcase of Canada’s vibrant multicultural heritage.

The Festival will feature 63 pavilions representing more than 85 cultures from all over the world.

The Festival is in need of a few extra volunteers to provide assistance with the information kiosks and to serve as drivers to shuttle volunteers around the site (in a golf cart!) during the Festival.

Volunteer shifts are as follows:
Saturday, August 4: 4 - 9 PM (FULL)
Sunday, August 5: 2 - 9 PM (FULL)
Sunday, August 5: 5 - 10 PM (FULL)
Monday, August 6: 9:30 a.m - 2:30 PM (FULL)
Monday, August 6: 1:30 - 7:00 PM (FULL)
Monday, August 6: 2 - 7 PM (FULL)

Info Kiosk Duties
. Distribute Souvenir Programs
. Answer questions from the public and pavilions regarding:
. Schedules for the Amphitheatre and festival events
. Location of services and attractions
. Services available
. To be aware of how to contact the various services required by the public and cultural pavilions (an information manual will be available to the volunteers at each kiosk)
. Receive and register complaints/compliments (binder provided)
. Receive and record lost/found items (binder provided) and inform your Supervisor or the Administration Office if someone brings something they have found to you so that arrangements can be made to take the found items to the appropriate area. This could be anything from a child to a set of keys.

Driver duties (volunteers must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license)
. Keep food ticket booths stocked with tickets
. Transport personnel
. Other on site deliveries as required
. Pick up/drop off Food Ticket Sellers when they are carrying tickets/cash

There is no public parking in Hawrelak Park during the Festival. However, Festival volunteers can use Edmonton Transit at no charge to travel to and from their shifts (details will be provided to volunteers about this benefit.)

Please add your name to the wait list and in the notes section of your registration, please indicate your availability and any relevant experience you think may be useful. I will fill shifts in consultation with the Edmonton Heritage Festival staff.

Volunteers will be invited to a pre-Festival BBQ/volunteer orientation event on Thursday, August 2 (EOC event posting to come) and will receive a t-shirt, a hat, meals, and non-alcoholic beverages. If you volunteer for 10 hours, you also receive a ballot for a scholarship (as long as you are enrolled in post-secondary school on or before December 31, 2012).

The Edmonton Heritage Festival counts on volunteers to help ensure the success of the event. If you aren't able to commit to the volunteer shifts, please do not sign-up since it will be very difficult to find suitable replacements at the last minute.
