High Level Streetcar and Strathcona Stroll (6/30/2012)

Itinerary:
Ding Ding! All aboard! Come for a ride on Edmonton's historic streetcar service that links Downtown and Old Strathcona, via the impressive High Level Bridge.

This service is run by the Edmonton Radial Railway Society, and is well worth a trip. See their website below:

We shall catch the first Saturday departure at 9:20a.m. from the Downtown terminus (between 109 St & 110 St at 100 Ave).
Please meet at the terminus no later than 9:10am.
These trains can be busy, and there is no pre-booking available, so we need to be there in good time!
The next departure is not until 10:00 from Downtown, and we won't be waiting for latecomers.

The round trip fare is $5.00.
Please note I am keeping the attendee numbers quite low on this event, these streetcars can get very busy and the larger the group the less sure I am that we can all get onboard!

Once we arrive in Strathcona (about 15-20 mins after departure), we can pop into the Farmers Market for a look around (and some retail therapy if desired).
After 10:00am we will also be able to have a quick look at the ERRS Museum - see link below:

Once we have checked out the Farmers Market and the Museum, the morning is fairly open!
Depending upon preferences / suggestions - eg. we can have a wander along Whyte Avenue and/or go for some brunch.

You will be free to catch any train back that you wish, once you have seen / done all you want in Strathcona!

By the way, in case you are wondering, the photo on the top right is not the historic streetcar in Edmonton. (I know you are all disappointed by this news....)
It is actually in Basel, Switzerland - those crazy Swiss! :-)
