Itinerary:
We will meet in Gold Bar Park parking lot at the n/east corner. We will walk away at 7:00 pm. We will walk east to Gold Bar bridge (5 minutes) & go behind the bridge & hike up the streambed to 101 st. The stream is sometimes moist & sometimes wet but I've never seen more that 6 inches of water in this stream (except for once during a flood). We WILL have to walk in water sometimes. The stream is mostly rocky/pebbles therefore no walking (or little) in the mud. The whole idea is to get comfortable with walking in water while hiking & get some exercise in micro movements & balance. It's really good exercise for the ankles. It is quite different walking in a streambed that walking the "normal" surfaces. You are welcome to bring poles but you will not really need them. Wear long pants as there is a spot where you have to climb up a 3 or 4 foot embakment. You could bring a second pair of shoes to change into after the hike. Your best bet is to wear your "shiggy shoes" (shoes that you dont care if the get wet & dirty) & then change into something dry. Free pop at Mc Donalds after the hike.
