Itinerary:
Explore the watery habitats of Elk Island National Park, a wilderness oasis just 40 minutes east of Edmonton.

After basic instructions you will glide quietly over Astotin Lake. There are several bays and islands to explore and over 200 species of birds.
This excursion is ideal for beginners, it includes transportation from Edmonton, 2-person canoes and interpretation.

The following items are all included in the Edmonton Canoe rental package:
1 canoe,
2 paddles
1 personal flotation device with whistle per person
1 throw bag
A rental agreement must be signed upon receipt of equipment

Personal equipment and other gear you feel is necessary will be your responsibility, ie. water, food, rain gear, sun screen, etc.

The cost does not include park fees. You can use your National Park Pass to enter the park so bring it along.

Fires and camping are not permitted on the islands of Astotin Lake.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Shuttle departs from Emily Murphy Park in Edmonton (south shore of the river) at 9am.
Drive into the park located at and turn left at the T-intersection. We meet in the parking lot next to the Groat Road Bridge.

Notes:
The cost does not include park fees.


- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the EOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where EOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refunds of money if you cancel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in EOC events.
